Good health, high energy levels and a strong immune system are directly dependent on nutrition. It is the foundation that is necessary for everyone to build a beautiful body and improve the functioning of all body systems. Samson promotes a balanced diet for these reasons, and today we will tell you what you need to include in your diet to meet your body's requirements and needs.
NUTRITION AND ENERGY.
Just woke up and you're already tired. If you are familiar with this condition, the first thing you should pay attention to is, of course, the menu. Food for our body is a kind of fuel. If it is not enough, the body will not be able to get the necessary energy to ensure the processes of vital activity. And here it is important not only the number of calories received from food, but also their quality. In dietetics there is such a concept as nutritional density of a product - this is the content of useful substances per 1 kcal of the product. The more vitamins, minerals, fiber, protein, healthy fats, the higher the nutritional density. That is, you can eat the same number of calories, but get a completely different set of nutrients. For example, you can compare fish grown in fish farms and wild fish caught from natural water bodies. At first glance, there is no difference. However, if you consider the products in terms of nutritional density, it becomes obvious that wild fish is much richer in its composition, and despite the same calorie, will give the body much more benefits, and therefore energy. The same goes for meat, cereals, dairy products, vegetables and fruits. To choose the right food for good energy levels, it is important to give preference to those goods where the composition is as simple as possible, and the finished products have not been subjected to deep food processing. Otherwise, the original product leaves few useful substances, but artificial additives, flavor enhancers and preservatives - at least a lot. Once you eat such food, you should not expect a high level of energy that will last the whole day.
In addition, it is important to watch the amount of protein in the diet. There is an opinion that carbohydrates give energy to the body. Technically, this is true. When a carbohydrate meal is ingested, the process of carbohydrate oxidation takes place. One gram of carbohydrates releases about 4 kcal. However, proteins are also a crucial source of energy. How are proteins converted into energy? This process begins in the gastrointestinal tract. Thanks to enzymes, protein foods are broken down and energy is released - better and longer lasting energy. Proteins are also extremely important for releasing energy at the cellular level. The "energy stations" in the cell - the mitochondria - are responsible for energy. Carrier molecules on the cell membrane drag protein breakdown products, and through ATP synthesis (the main source of energy for cells) and reactions with oxygen, energy is released. This is how the energy function of proteins is carried out at the cellular level.
NUTRITION AND IMMUNITY.
The body's immune defense is constantly under attack. Much depends on how strong it is. Protein is the building material of every cell, it is hormones, youth and, of course, strong immunity. Human interferon, which provides antiviral defense, is a protein molecule. Interferon has a specific activity: it acts not on a specific pathogen, but on all viral particles that we meet every day. If the diet is poor in protein content, it inevitably leads to a deficiency of interferon and, as a consequence, to weak immunity. Many immune cells are unable to utilize glucose, they feed exclusively on glutamine, which is one of the standard amino acids that make up protein. No protein means no adequate nutrition for immunity. Lack of glutamine is to immune cells as low sugar is to humans: the immune system becomes sluggish, weak and does not perform its full function.
WHAT TO DO TO MAINTAIN ADEQUATE PROTEIN LEVELS IN THE BODY?
Include quality, protein foods at every meal. Good options are lean beef, pork, chicken, turkey, offal, eggs, fish, natural cottage cheese, yogurt, cheese, legumes, mushrooms. Protein food should be at least 75 g per day. The presence of chronic diseases, individual characteristics and the level of physical activity can increase/decrease this norm. Together with a strong immune system, a sufficient amount of protein will give a good metabolism and normal weight, absence of swelling, appetite control, reduced cravings for food rich in simple carbohydrates.
Replace carbohydrate snacks with protein snacks. This can be a piece of cheese, a can of Greek yogurt, a few nuts.
Give preference to lean meats - their protein content is much higher. The Samson assortment offers ideal meat products that will provide your diet with the necessary amount of protein: lean pork, minced meat, turkey and chicken are perfectly satiating, give a long feeling of satiety and do not overload the digestive system. In addition, all of our products have a simple, easy-to-understand composition and high nutritional density.
